Joining SCCU
Membership is open to persons who either work or reside in Manatee, Sarasota, and Charlotte Counties, including members of the immediate family of such persons who are Florida residents.
"Once a Member, always a Member." When you join SCCU, you may remain a Member for life, even if you move from the community.
Start the Membership process in the following ways:
Online Request for Membership Application
You can either complete the online Request for Membership Application and send it directly to us, or you can print the application, complete the form and mail or fax it to us. To protect your security, you must visit one of our offices to complete a Signature Card, as well as provide photo identification and proof of eligibility for membership. Simply call to schedule an appointment and a Financial Service Representative will have all of the information waiting for you to open your new account.
In Person
You can come into any of our branches and meet with a Financial Service Representative to open a new account. To get started, you must bring the following:
- A Driver’s License (or other official photo ID)
- Proof of Eligibility
- Cash or check, payable to Sarasota Coastal Credit Union, in the amount of $30.00. This includes a one-time membership fee of $25.00, and a $5.00 minimum Share Savings Account balance requirement.
Important Information about Procedures for Opening a New Account
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.
